Bonjour!
I hope that you and yours are well.
Summer has officially started in France – and that means the Summer issue of The Good Life France Magazine is out! I am delighted to share this edition with you, I think it’s the best yet! It’s absolutely brimming with fabulous features and fantastic photos, guides, recipes and heaps more – and of course, as always it’s totally FREE to read, subscribe and to share. Just click here to get it: The Good Life France Magazine Summer 2024.
Discover the gorgeous art-deco-heaven city of Nancy in northeast France, the garden centre where Claude Monet bought his waterlilies (and still going strong), and fabulous Figeac in the Lot. There’s a guide to Paris for first timers, if you’re on a budget and for those who’ve been before and want to dive deeper into the culture of the city of light. Effervescent Reims, magical Morbihan in Britanny and timeless Troyes are featured, plus a city where a 15,000 egg omelette is made each year in honour of Napoleon Bonaparte, and discover how the French Revolution made picnics popular in Britain! Toulouse, Picardy, Arras. the world biggest pastry school and much, much more to enjoy. And please feel free to share this issue, it’s free to all!
Last week I was in Bordeaux visiting the city, Arcachon – the beautiful seaside resort close by, in Saint-Emilion and the vineyards of Medoc – stories coming soon in a future issue of the magazine. But for now, I’ve packed my case away for a few weeks as I embark on a new adventure closer to home which I can’t wait to tell you more about – soon!
There’s plenty going on here in my bit of France throughout the summer months including the postponed birthday party of my nonagenarian neighbour Marie-Claude, les illuminations – a very rural French event where people put up Christmas lights in mid Summer (!), flea markets galore, straw sculpture contests, Bastille Day celebrations and much more. So instead of photos of my travels around France on Instagram – you can expect details of my local life for a while! Feel free to join me on Instagram and to ask questions about where to visit, life in France, French food etc – I’m always up for an Insta-chat! You’ll find me here: @thegoodlifefrance
